Arbella Insurance Promotes Jim Hyatt to Executive Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer

The Arbella Insurance Group (Arbella) is pleased to announce the promotion of Jim Hyatt to Executive Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer. Reporting directly to John Donohue, chairman, president and CEO, Jim will oversee Arbella’s Personal and Commercial Lines of business, including underwriting, product development, pricing and reinsurance.

 

“Jim’s extensive experience in both Commercial Lines and Personal Lines has been instrumental to his success,” said Donohue. “At Arbella he has grown Personal Lines year-over-year and has been an excellent strategic resource and mentor to many. His broad knowledge of our industry will bring much success to both of Arbella's core lines of business."

Prior to his tenure at Arbella, Hyatt served as vice president and national sales director for Personal Lines at The Hanover Insurance Group. In that role, he led field teams, broker relationships and the company’s overall distribution strategy across 20 states. He was then promoted to Regional President in the New England territory, overseeing both personal and commercial lines.

Hyatt also had a successful career with The Hartford and spent more than 17 years with Chubb in a number of leadership positions, including senior vice president of North American field marketing.

A graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Hyatt has deep roots in New England. He and his family live in Walpole.
