Department Overview

When you think of an IT department, do you picture people toiling at their desk all day, secluded from the rest of the company? At Arbella, that couldn’t be further from the truth. Our Information Technology team has a dynamic culture, works collaboratively with other departments, and is committed to their employees’ growth and success.

Our IT department is unique in that it’s large in size, with 134 people, but still has a small group feel. There is a real sense of communication and open dialogue that makes it easy for employees to share thoughts and ideas. And our vice president of technology and Chief Information Officer, Paul Brady, won the CIO of the Year award in 2015. Our management team understands the needs of our employees and is committed to helping their employees thrive.

What They Do for Fun

Like the rest of the company, IT participates in the annual Customer Service Week. Each year they have friendly contests and competitions that employees love to get involved with. Whether it’s a chili cook-off, pie baking and eating competitions on Pi Day, marshmallow wars, or a wings flavoring competition, this group knows how to have fun and the results are always delicious. And let’s just say you don’t want to miss the “geeky” photo booths or Halloween costume contest.

Working in IT is a project-based, production support, deadline oriented job. However, as the saying goes, Arbella Information Technology “works hard and plays hard.” It’s pretty typical to see a group celebrating a big project release with a party to recognize their hard work, as well as team potluck luncheons all throughout the year. A crowd of IT employees even got together to go see the new Star Wars movie premiere as a group!
