Arbella and Norwell & Norwell Agency Donate $2,000 to Walpole Families of Faith

Contribution is part of Arbella Insurance Group Charitable Foundation’s “Let’s Drive Out Hunger” Initiative

WALPOLE, Mass. – March 8, 2011 – Norwell & Norwell Insurance Agency and the Arbella Insurance Group announced today that they have donated a combined $2,000 to Walpole Families of Faith as part of the Arbella Insurance Group Charitable Foundation’s “Let’s Drive Out Hunger” program. Walpole Families of Faith is comprised of members of six area churches who join together to offer a weekly “Breaking Bread” meal for those in need of food, fellowship or community.

Now in its third year, Let’s Drive Out Hunger aims to alleviate the increasingly prevalent issue of food security in Massachusetts. The program pools contributions from agencies with a matching gift program in which Arbella matches donations from any of its nearly 500 independent agents on a two-to-one basis, up to $500 per agency. Over the past two years, Arbella and its partner agents have contributed more than $140,000 to help many of the 400 emergency food programs, soup kitchens, food pantries and food banks across 130 Massachusetts communities.

“We’re so proud to be contributing to this important effort to drive out hunger and we hope other businesses will follow suit,” said John Norwell, founder and president of Norwell & Norwell. “It’s part of our commitment to giving back to our community in meaningful ways.”

Norwell & Norwell made an initial donation of $500, which was then matched by the Foundation. Subsequently, Walpole resident and Arbella Vice President of Personal Lines Jim Hyatt made a donation of $500, which was then matched by Arbella through its officers and directors matching gift program.
