Arbella Named Presenting Sponsor of Jimmy Fund Tote Board at Annual Radio-Telethon

New Facebook and Red Sox Promotions Help Boost Arbella Insurance Foundation's Contributions to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute

QUINCY, Mass., August 7, 2012 — The Arbella Insurance Foundation is proud to be the presenting sponsor of the tote board – a progressive indicator of the hourly fundraising success – at the 11th annual WEEI/NESN Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon, a two-day telethon at Fenway Park. Along with its tote board sponsorship, Arbella's Foundation will make a generous donation to the Jimmy Fund. Additionally, to maximize its contribution, Arbella is offering an agent matching gift program in which the company will match donations to the Jimmy Fund from any of its nearly 500 independent agents on a two-to-one basis, up to $500 per agency.

Since its founding in 1948, the Jimmy Fund has supported the fight against cancer in children and adults at Boston's Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Last year's telethon raised more than $3.4 million, and since 2002, the event has generated more than $28 million to help raise the chances of survival for cancer patients around the world.

This year, Arbella's Foundation is making the "Extra effort to drive out cancer" by donating $50 for every extra base hit by Red Sox batters, up to $50,000. During telethon week, from August 19-August 25, Arbella will double the donation amount to $100 per extra base hit. The public can visit the Arbella tote board on after every game to track the nightly total.

Another way Arbella is committed to helping the Jimmy Fund this year is through Facebook. Arbella's Foundation will donate a dollar for every new fan who "likes" Arbella's Facebook page (up to $5,000 total) through August 23.

"Arbella's Foundation has had a long commitment to helping cancer patients and their families in New England, and we are thrilled and honored to extend our support of the Radio-Telethon to include this new 'Extra effort to drive out cancer,'" said John Donohue, chairman, president and CEO of the Arbella Insurance Group and chairman and president of the Arbella Insurance Foundation. "All of us at Arbella are so pleased to be able to give back and support this important cause. We applaud WEEI, the Red Sox and of course the Jimmy Fund, for all the important work they do to further cancer research and care right here in our communities."

The 36-hour broadcast begins on Tuesday, August 21 and will feature compelling stories from Dana-Farber patients, doctors, researchers and nurses. The telethon also showcases fun and inspiring interviews and commentaries on WEEI Sports Radio Network and NESN by local sports heroes, Hollywood celebrities and cancer patients.
