Arbella’s Paul Brady Named Boston Business Journal CIO of the Year
Award recognizes innovation, leadership, community involvement
QUINCY, Mass., July 21, 2015 – The Arbella Insurance Group (“Arbella”) is pleased to announce that Paul Brady, chief information officer and vice president of Information Technology, has been awarded the Boston Business Journal’s 2015 CIO of the Year Award. Brady was honored in the Enterprise category, representing companies with over $500 million in revenue.
The annual CIO of the Year Award, presented in partnership with the Boston CIO Leadership Association, recognizes chief information officers who have demonstrated excellence in technology leadership. CIOs and those in equivalent positions are recognized in five categories: Global, Enterprise, Corporate, Non-profit/Public Sector, and a special Leadership Award. Finalists and winners are selected by an independent panel of judges, including CIO peers and prior award recipients. The finalists are then evaluated on innovation, leadership, business value creation and community involvement. Brady received the award at a ceremony at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel.
When Brady began working at Arbella in 2010, he brought with him a wealth of IT and insurance industry knowledge; he had worked for the previous 10 years at Liberty Mutual Insurance, where he was the senior director of IT. Within one year of arriving at Arbella, Brady was promoted to CIO and vice president of Information Technology. Brady’s IT leadership has been instrumental in the organization’s progress toward delivering innovative technology that results in superior customer service.
“We are so proud to have Paul recognized as CIO of the Year, an award that is well deserved,” said John Donohue, chairman, president and CEO of the Arbella Insurance Group. “Paul’s extensive background in IT, paired with his natural ability to lead, has brought tremendous value not only to our IT operations, but to our company as a whole. We are honored to have him on our team.”
Brady is deeply involved in the community as well. He is an active member of Big Brothers Big Sisters, the United Way, Project Bread, and the Bentley University Alumni Association. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and a master’s degree in computer information systems, both from Bentley University.
