New England Center For Homeless Veterans

The New England Center for Homeless Veterans is one of the nation’s largest private institutions that provides assistance to veterans of every age who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Since 1989, NECHV has offered a wide range of services enabling the success, reintegration, meaningful employment, and independent living of thousands of veterans throughout New England.

A Supportive Partnership

The Arbella Insurance Foundation began its support of the NECHV in 2006 and has continued that support as a sponsor of its annual fundraising event, Leave No One Behind. Through its 50 to 25 program, the Foundation provided the NECHV with a $50,000 grant to support an overall building renovation that would provide separate permanent supportive housing top address the needs of female veterans.

Bettering the Lives of New England Veterans Every Day

The Center’s downtown Boston facility contains 59 affordable apartments, a distinct and separate 17-bed female Veteran’s transitional dormitory, and more than 300 transitional and emergency beds. More than 350 Veterans reside at NECHV each night.  Each year, NECHV serves 130,000 resident meals, 1,000 Veterans complete NECHV vocational training programs, and more than 400 Veterans find permanent homes.

Support from Arbella's Employees

Arbella Insurance Group employees enjoy volunteering at the NECHV and have participated in special programs, such as the NECHV’s DVD donation drive and its holiday program, in which Arbella employees come together to purchase all the items on individual vets’ wish lists. Arbella employees who are veterans are able to attend and support the annual “Leave No One Behind” fundraiser.
